"
My name is Fanni Fazekas.
I was born in Budapest and I am a Hungarian citizen.
I am studying at the Free University of Bolzano in Italy. I am a third year student at the faculty of design and art.
My personal interest is minimalist design and the philosophy of minimalist design.
I would like to say some words to the hungarian design.
Today the hungarian designers are young - between 24 and 30 years old.
This new generation has a lot of difficulties regarding their competitive position, but they have quality. The hungarian design will increase for the next years and will be noticed in a positive way.
Already hungarian society realises the necessity of design, even the design has become indispensable in everyday life.
The hungarian designers appreciate the importance of their work and therefore they try to demonstrate, that the design needs to enter always more scopes.
Hungarians have already fully developed products and also those, who are waiting for their chance to open up the international market.
Many designers work on projetcs regarding the problem of our century what is the protection of the environment.
All this testifies, that the hungarian design is alive, moves and developes.
Regarding the future of hungarian design will take place an important event, when next time the Hungarian Design Center openes in Budapest at Erzsebet place. In december 2003 was an informal termin with the Hungarian government for designers; the laying of the foundation stone for the Design Center will be at 1st of May. This event will be one of the first festivities with the membership of Hungary in the European Union."
