I finished study of industrial design, and my colleague Norbert Sladecka is an architect. We both have been born in Piestany, we are around 30 years old and we are living and creating in Slovakia. We started our way to design several years ago with studying at the universities. At the beginnig we´ve been interested in furniture and interior design, later we got closer to the product design and now we are concern also in graphic web design. Design in Slovakia has a long tradition, which comes from the history of the art crafts. A lot of the companies are nowadays concerned in original craft manufacture in Slovakia. European Union should create a lot of new working opportunities, also for designers in foreign and international companies.These companies are expecting the same professional work like in the other european union countries. Our design work is not so big and famous, like it is in foreign countries, but there are also great architects, and their work can compare with a world design work. Design is presentated in media, publicated in magazines and also on the specialized competitions. Under the influence of the European union our country will be globalized, but we still will save our special character, coming from original craft and folk together. This is the reason, I think, that our country will be still special and interesting also in a way of design for the people from all over the world."
